Africans Unite

PAN-AFRICANISM AND THE PRSP
Political freedom and economic independence are what
makes a nation independent. Both are essential. In the 1960’s, African countries
fought hard for their freedom from colonialism, only to get tied up with
neo-colonialism (economic dependence on the former colonial masters and the U.S.).
The new colonialism selected African puppets to replace the old European
colonialists under the guise of political freedom.
What has been illustrated by this scenario is that
political freedom alone is meaningless without economic independence. Both can only
exist if Africa is unified under a scientific socialist government. That is why Pan-Africanism
is key.
Pan Africanism will mean:
-
An economic system where the
wealth of the whole continent is owned and controlled by African people for the
benefit of all of its people.
-
An African government where
all of the people govern themselves.
-
A proud African people
returned to their rightful place in history; respecting themselves and accepting
nothing less from anyone else.
-
A social system with equal
access for women and men; satisfying the needs of both; allowing both to grow
and develop to their fullest potential.
-
A continent where we apply the
principles of science in all spheres of thought and production to solve the
problems of our people and humanity.
-
A continent which seeks to
contribute to a just society globally.
Pan-Africanism
is our only solution!
